Long save times in windows 7

Hi, save times are far longer in windows 7 than in our older XP build

points to offline docs, but also syncs Home drive  location

windows syncing seems to happen before and after, can the sync be avoided?  sync after putting files in offline in the background

any suggetsions for reducing save time welcome

There could be many causes to this problem:

1. There is another app consuming much of the processor and memory while you are trying to save this file (like anti virus or an updater app like Java or Adobe Updater).
2. The connection to the server is slow. Possible problem on the server
3. DNS may need to be flushed and registered
  go to start, cmd ...Enter
  type ipconfig /flushdns   ...Enter
  type ipconfig /registerdns   ...Enter
  type exit
4. Delete all temporary files

hi, new build  so no temp
dns fine

when i do a file transfer  eg cut and paste to network filer it copies in a resonable time

when i click save with in word  (To a redirected folder)

a progress bar comes up saysnig "saving" and it takes a good 2o seconds to finish   (5mb file)

as mentioned  moving this file to same location doesnt take (or appear to take that long)

If indexing is currently running, it could cause a delay.
