Is there a new version of ASP.NET? If so, when was it released?

And what are the major advantages?

I code mainly using the MVC3 framework. Has ASP.NET 5 upgraded MVC to a higher version? Or kept it at MVC3?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There's no 5.

Currently you can download an use a new version of based on .Net framework 4.5 included in the Visual Studio 2011 Developer Preview.

You can check here what's new with in this developer preview.

The definitive version will be released with the commercial version of Visual Studio 2011 probably in the second quarter of this year.

Hope that helps.
