Install rabbitmq on mac

I am having problems installing rabbitmq on a mac. I'm a first time mac user. If possible, please provide step by step instructions.

The instructions on the rabbitmq website are not sufficient.

Thanks!

RabbitMQ is a Linux/Unix application that is NOT designed for OSX by default.
macports is a system that allows you to install lots of applications which are not specifically prepared for OSX and are not setup as standalone APP files.

You'll need to download an install macports (OSX Lion version from here - http://www.macports.org)

Once installed you will have to open a Terminal.app window and run the commands from the RabbitMQ page
http://www.rabbitmq.com/install-macports.html

I did install macports, but I am not sure how to proceed from there.

It actually worked when I executed this command from the terminal.

Previously, I was doing it from emacs. Thanks!

sudo port install rabbitmq-server
