SQL Management Studio 2005 & 2008

Is it possible to install the SQL Management Studio 2005 and 2008 on the same SQL 2005 server?

If so, is there anything special that I need to do.

Thanks

Hi,

Whats worked for me in the past on my workstation - I've been supporting SQL 7, 2000, 2005, and then migrating much of that to 2008R2 - was to install the lesser one first. If you have SQL 2005 installed, then easy to install SQL 2008 - in fact I had both as named instances of the engine as well.

The one gotcha is that SQL 2008R2 upgraded the client components of SQL 2008.

when you go through the install process the only thing that should be checked on the "select features" page should be "client tools".
