XenApp 6.0 Profiles

I in the process of setting a new XenAPP 6 farm and setting up a server to host a publoshed desktop. I am using Profile Manager 4.0. I have already used Office 2010 OCT tools to create an MSP file to setup Office 2010 and hopefully Outlook when users log in . Here is my questions. I want users to get a preset desktop that will discard all changes after they log off. Is this a manditory profile and if so is there any problems using Outlook with a manditory profile

To be blunt, I don't think you fully understand your requirements or enough about profiles to make a decision yet.  These two articles should help you get started.

If you are using Citrix Profile Manager 4 why would you use a Mandatory profile also?  The two are mutually exclusive.  Redirect the Desktop folder (using Folder Redirection) and make the file read-only or give users read-only rights to the folder.

Then don't use Profile Manager and use only a Mandatory Profile.  Anything Outlook 2010 saves in the profile will be lost.

OK, so given what I want to do have a default profile that users get and discards all changes they make when they log off yet works with Outlook 2010... What is the difference between a temp and mandatory profile

Carl WebsterCommented:
A Mandatory profile is precreated and optimized by you.  A temp profile is one created by the system when a user logs on to a server and the OS cannot find a profile that exists for the user.  In both cases, changes the user made are not saved.

So which should I choose the WIndows Mandatory or Citrix temp profile?

Test this setting on a test box. You need not use mandatory profile.
