Usernv Event ID : 1058 Problem with Default Domain Policy on DC02

We are getting t errors on Del-DC02 (Event ID 1030 & 1058), it says “Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this.”

And

“Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=XY.lan,DC=lan. The file must be present at the location <\\XY.lan\sysvol\XY.lan\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>. (Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.”

While checking the Group policy ID, I found the problem is with Default domain policy on Del-DC02

IT is server 2003 r2; the error happens every few hours.

We have one Primary and one secondary  DC; the director has deleted logs.

Task on DEL-DC02
-      Ran the dfsutil /PurgeMupCache on DC02 – No change
-      Checked rsop.msc on del-dc02 at run, the User config was Marked RED-Crossed.
-      Ran gpupdate /force with logoff (Y)…
-      Again checked the rsop.msc on del-dc02 at run prompt, The User Config is cleared.
-      Cleared all the logs.
-      Restarted the server…

Is the problem fixed? If the problem is fixed then it is hard to troubleshoot the actual problem. The errors can be caused by caused by a range of issues. I cant guess on what caused the problem
