Upgrade Sun Cluster 3.1 to 3.3

Hi

We are thinking about upgrading Sun Cluster 3.1 Software to 3.3. Now I have a few questions. Is there a direct way of upgrading to 3.3 without going through 3.2? Are the old SC commands like scswitch still available in SC 3.3?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Please have a look at the instructions in the following page:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18728_01/html/821-2846/gcsrz.html

read
How to Prepare the Cluster for Upgrade (Standard)

to make sure your system meets the requirement, apply all the require patches first.

then read the instructions in that page and perform the upgrade.

I would perform a full system backup before the upgrade installation, in case something goes wrong. (it should be ok in most case!).

All the best and good luck!

Thanks for the answer. But is it possible to upgrade directly from 3.1?

It shouls be ok, you need to check the installation note for 3.3 to make sure all the required patches for the OS installed and patch up your OS first.
