Question on BOXI R3.1 - Does the sqlsvr.prm file affect the results of a Crystal report ?

Does the sqlsvr.prm file affect the results of a Crystal report if it is NOT built against a universe? We have a large Business Objects Enterprise XI R3.1 installation which is mostly running Crystal reports (against Oracle and Sql Server databases) using ODBC and native client connections.

We have a vendor for an application who has sent us universes and DESKI reports that we would like to publish on our Enterprise environment. The vendor has also sent a new sqlsvr.prm file to replace the original file on the server. My questions is, will this new sqlsvr.prm file affect our current Crystal reports since they are not running on top of a universe? Do the .prm files only affect report running on top of universes?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It appears the .prm file may be used for othe rdatabases as well.  Check the last comment in this thread
