I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Exchange 2007 is role based. When you decide if you want to perform a typical or a custom installation, you are essentially deciding which roles you want to install on the server. Microsoft engineer said we should plan for 5K(Bytes), per second, per user, for bandwidth to the remote sites. That seems VERY high to me. That would mean I would need 4Mbps for exchange alone for 100 users! (5KB/s * 8 = 40Kbps * 100 users = 4000Kbps = 4Mbps = 2 full E1 circuits!)
