Using Forefront Endpoint Protection without SCCM
My company currently has an enterprise agreement with Microsoft, which includes FEP in our CAL. We currently do not have SCCM configured. As it stands, we do not have the resources or time to get it up and running.
We have our home office and then about 125 satellite branches. We want to start installing FEP on all of the new computers that get sent to our satellite branches, and eventually migrate all of the workstations at our home office to it also.
Is there anyway we can install FEP on these machines with some sort of default policy and then just have the workstations call in to one of the main Microsoft servers for definition updates? If so, how do we do this?

But yes you can. You can export the FEP Policies from SCCM and import them into a Active Directory Group Policy
