HI,

I have this isapi_redirect filter (Tomcat redirect connector).
One example tells me to add this filter tothe Websites (of IIS) and another tells me to add on Default Websites.
http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/webserver_howto/apache.html

How does this filter  apply when on Website and Default web site?

Hi,

It just has to do where the filter is loaded.

This configuration provides you the advantage to load multiple ISAPI redirectors with independent configurations on the same server. If it is loaded at the Default Websites level, then it is a SERVER wide configuration. All websites will inherit the configuration. If you load it at the website level, it is only configured for that site.

Hope it help clarify,

I meant the Websites folder, one up on the Default Website.

Yes, the answer is the same. One is loaded at the SERVER LEVEL and acts as a default for ALL newly create websites. It will also ask you to add it to other currently created websites IF they exist already.

The default website, is just a website like any other. The filter will only be applied to that website.
