Install sql server 2005 on DVD to VPS

I have an enterprise sql server 2005 that I need to install on my VPS.
The VPS is running Windows Server 2008 R2.

How can I get the VPS to see my drive so that I can run it from my VPS?

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I believe you can just download the install from Microsoft and type in your key

you could always do one of the following:

extract files from disc and put on VPS and install using the files, you don't need the DVD so much as you need the files

make image of disc and then mount it on VPS using a cd/dvdrom emulator software such as daemon tools

Looks like ms removed it
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sqlserver/bb498185
Only 2008 versions are available for download.

If you have an msdn subscription you can get the ISO files.

If you can remote desktop to your CPA you can actually share the cd drive on your local computer. However it will be much faster to just FTP up the files an run it from there.

How do I share the dvd drive from my windows 7 pro to the windows server 2008 R2?

I would zip the contents of the CD and FTP the zip file to the VPS. If the VPS is not local you won't be able to share your CD Rom drive unless you have VPN access, I wouldn't recommend it, it may take even longer to install than to transfer the contents to FTP.

Then just run setup.exe from the files

otherwise you'd have to use a third party cd image software such as imgburn to create a cd/dvd image
and then you can use something like daemon tools to create a virtual cd/dvdrom drive and mount the cd/dvd image

With a vps you usually use remote desktop (mstsc.exe) to connect. Remote desktop lets you mount local drives to the remote system but like I said before, it's sloooow.
Once you remote in, install FileZilla server. Super easy FTP server. Then you can run FileZilla client or any othe FTP client to send files to your server.
