I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you referring to SQL Server Express or EMS SQL Manager 2008 Lite for SQL Server ?

I am going to have to bow out of this thread:  The author does not appear to have any interest in taking advantage of that wonderful human attribute called commnication.

Good luck.

I'm just looking for some free utilities that anyone can recommend to monitor the database on the server.

Sure. Why not answer the questions on which database you are referring to exactly. SQLite is not the same as SQL Server 2008. The Spiceworks tool you installed per your above comment is a free tool for monitoring a Microsoft SQL Server database. When it installs, it loads a SQLite database to store its own information. Is Spiceworks not doing something you need? What is that? What is the exact platform and version of the database you are monitoring? (again, keep in mind that there is no such animal as "SQL 2008 Lite")
