Updating Intel Rapid Storage Technology in Option ROM on GA-EX58-UD3R

Hey - Migrating to Intel RST 10.8 w/ i7 920 on  GA-EX58-UD3R rev 1.0.  The older version of RST 8,6 is on is what's show up when I press Ctrl-I during boot to configure BIOS RAID on boards's "Option ROM" as the manual calls it. Is it important to have it match the system drivers? How do I update it to the current version?

Always if upgrading the software side of your RAID, read the release notes. If Intel tells you to use a newer version of the BIOS, simply download the newest vertion of your BIOS from the Gigabyte support site.
Flashing the BIOS with your board is quite easy. Just need to place the dowloaded file into a PenDrive and flash the bios from that pendrive (read the quick guide from Gigabyte)
