You Need to change the form field to the text box and do the following:

<asp:TextBox Id="1" runat="server">
 <xsl:attribute name="Text">
    <xsl:value-of select="$PARAMETERNAME" />
  </xsl:attribute>
</asp:TextBox>

you can right click on the field and change it to text box...
