Connect to home isp with work laptop

I am working from home today and have my work laptop.  It is an older Dell Laptop that does not have integrated wireless...I use a plug in card, which I don't have.  It has Windows XP loaded.

I can sign into the computer locally, but I cannot get on the internet even when plugged into the ethernet port with an ethernet cable from my home router.  I usually use this network cable with a home desktop for internet access so I know the cable and connection are good.

However, when I plug it into the laptop and try to navigate out using the browser, I can't get anywhere.

It seems to me I have done this with other laptops.... what am I missing?

Thanks

Work Laptops are often locked down so you can't connect to networks outside of the company. To get help with such locked down laptops you should consult with your IT department, maybe they will make an exception to their policy if you need to work from home. If not, then EE can't help as that would circumvent company Policies, and that isn't allowed at EE.
