change internet explorer 8 security settings with registry

Hello All,

I am trying to change an Internet Explorer 8 security feature via registry editor. The setting i am trying to change is when i go to 'run' and type INETCPL.CPL, click on the security tab, and click the sites button. There is a checkbox for 'Include all network paths (UNCs)'. right now the box is greyed out and the top checkbox 'Automatically detect intranet network' is checked and is also greyed out. Is there a way i can get the 'Include all network paths (UNCs)' box checked using the registry editor?

I am the IT support :P
The problem is that the GPO was set by somebody else, but now we actually need it to be set. I was able to finally do what i needed to get done by going to HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies and adding the Associations reg key and adding a string value of "LowRiskFileTypes" and setting it to .exe. I know group policy is suppose to change this when you set it in there, but it wasn't modifying it for some reason so i had to set it manually. Thanks for the link to those group policy settings!
