RDP Error Signature Appname: mstsc.exe

Hello Experts, I am using RDP to connect to a server but I keep getting this error message:
"Remote Desktop Connection has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
When i click on more information I get:

The RDP version you are using seems to be old. You are suing version 6. Please go ahead and upgrade it to version 7 from the following link: There could be a version mismatch causing the problem.


Also, run an sfc /scannow from the command prompt.
Start > Run > cmd - Then run "sfc /scannow"
This should fix any dll related problems. As we can see from the Modname:msvcrt.dll is crashing.

Also, are you using any application in RDP. If yes, it might be causing the crashes.

One more thing. You can try to do a cleanboot - Start > run > msconfig - Services tab - Check box "Hide All Microsoft Services" - Then click Disable All, Apply - Same for startup tab - Disable All, Apply , OK and reboot. This should make sure that any Non microsoft services affecting the RDP, would be disabled.

The steps mentioned should be performed in sequence mentioned.

I will connect for about 30 seconds to a minute then coma back with the RDP Error

After upgrading the RDP version to 7.0 it worked!
