obtaining date minus two days

I'm trying to update a script to create a directory based on a standard name with the date appended to it.  I also want to remove directories that are two days or older.

I have the following snippet that creates a variable for the new folder creation:

set var=apps_archive_%date:~10%%date:~4,2%%date:~7,2%%

How can I grab date - 2? There doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this.  I would like to update to vbs, but this is unlikely do to the cohesiveness of the package.
