Cannot copy .exe files to network share.
I have a 2008 Standard server that i cannot copy any file that is .exe to.
EXEs are the only thing its like nothing happens when i try copying it. No error nothing. It is this way for all shares on the 2008 server.
Say i have c:\ClientApps if i copy it to the local disk on the server\clientapps it copies just fine. but i if i map a drive to the ClientApps share and try to copy it nothing happens. No event logs no popups nothing. Any ideas?

check the firewall settings on the NIC

Windows firewall is off and local AV has been disabled.
Are your folder options displaying all file types?
ASKER
Yes all files types are showing. And if i do a attrib from cmd that shows all hidden files. The specific exe that i copied is not there.
Do you have any McAfee AV on the client or server? I have seen it block file copying, file access, etc.
ASKER
SYmantec Endpoint 12.1
I have tried disabling it and doesnt seem to effect it. It is only the AV not the network protection part.

File Screening is probably turned on. Here's info on file screening: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732074.aspx
