I've installed tomcat 2 or 3 times in the past, but I've lost my notes. I'm having trouble getting started. I downloaded apache-tomcat-7.0.23-src.tar.gz, which tells me I need ANT (which I vaguely recall), so I downloaded apache-ant-1.8.2-bin.tar.gz. I un-tarred ant, set ANT_HOME, and added $ANT_HOME/bin to the PATH. Then, as instructed, I ran:

ant -f fetch.xml -Ddest=system

giving me the following output:

Buildfile: /user/util/src/apache-ant-1.8.2/fetch.xml

     [echo] Downloading to /user/util/src/apache-ant-1.8.2/lib

     [echo] Downloading to /user/util/src/apache-ant-1.8.2/lib

      [get] To: /user/util/src/apache-ant-1.8.2/lib/maven-artifact-ant-2.0.4-dep.jar

Apparently, the files needed by the ant build are not to be found? I can't build ANT yet, which means I can't build tomcat. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
