Exchange Bounce Message #550 5.4.4 ROUTING.NoConnectorForAddressType; unable to route for address type ##

Hey All,

I have an issue that has been documented and resolved by a Microsoft Hotfix for Outlook 2007 but not for Outlook 2010.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2475888/en-us?sd=rss&spid=11377#appliesto

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/56b2d50d-6855-444b-abed-89aaa9176a9f

There are other posts on here that explain an obvious workaround (typing the email address in manually) but I am looking for a fix to the issue.

Here is an extract of the message; (private details removed)

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

'###@###.com' (MAILTO:###@###.com) <mailto:IMCEAMAILTO-###%2B40###%###@###.com.au>
A problem occurred and this message couldn't be delivered. Check to be sure the e-mail address is correct. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

Diagnostic information for administrators:

Generating server: ###.###.local

IMCEAMAILTO-###+40###+2Ecom@###.com.au
#550 5.4.4 ROUTING.NoConnectorForAddressType; unable to route for address type ##

Maybe I am blind and simply missed the fix when I was searching, but if anyone has actually resolved this issue I would like to hear about it.

Regards,
Crossy

Do you mean that the emails are delivering correctly when sending from other than outlook 2010 clients (i mean OWA, Outlook 2007 etc).

This issue mostly happens because of the incorrectly configured send connector/outlook cache.
look at this https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26897402/Exchange-2010-sending-issues.html

If the issue happens only for one domain, you may try creating another send connector for that domain.

post more details as in my fist line, that may help me in giving some tips further.

Thanks Praveen,

Your fist solution seems to set the SMTP send connector to use any.....that would be a last choice for me at this stage. Your second option seems to be more for Word and Excel mailto hyperlinks but may possibly resolve the issue for Outlook. I will test and let you know.

I do not have an Oultook 2007 client to test from, however I will test from OWA once I have an email address I can use to test with (one that gives a known error).

Standby for results.....
