Exchange Syncing with Ipad/Iphone

I have a client that has been using his ipad to check his office email using exchange webmail when outside of the office. He just notified me that he is no longer able to access the his webmail from his Ipad. I tested from my ipad and it doesn't work for me either.

It does work from Mac and PC, tested with IE, FF, Safari and Chrome.  Im not sure what has changed and I don't really care as I didn't feel he was paying enough attention to security.

I need to configure the exchange server to communicate with idevices, i haven't set up an exchange server with ability yet and would appreciate any links or advice that would assist me in this endeavor.
