Powerpoint 2010 - UNABLE TO EMBED VIDEO LINK
Something isn't right with that embed code.
When I test this quickly here by going to http://www.youtube.com and clicking on a video, I have to right-click the video and select "embed HTML." Then I paste that into the box in PPT and click Insert.
My embed code looks like the attached.
I suspect the frame in the code above might be part of the problem. Maybe go directly to the source on youtube and embed that instead...
Or it may be just that specific video itself. If I go here: http://www.youtube.com/embed/N8IOi7lcZnY it says, "The video you requested is not available."

It's a YOUTUBE video I want to embed, not a shockwave.
And I'm on 2007, not 2003.

Here is the direct link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8I0i7lcZnY
The embed link only works with the other code... it's suppose to anyway.

If you're responding to me, yeah, I know you want to embed a youtube video. But the embed code refers to the shockwave player. You need that in order to play a video from a website. (You also need to make sure you've installed the 64-bit Flash player if you're running 64-bit Windows.)
Who said you were on 2003? I'm guessing you're actually on 2010 because linking to a video on a website isn't even available on 2007.
AND you should be aware that, although you're using embed code, you are still LINKING to the video on the website. You will need to have an internet connection in order for the video to play during your presentation.

This is the embed code for that video:
<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/N8I0i7lcZnY?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/N8I0i7lcZnY?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockw ave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>
Again, just right-click it and choose embed HTML. It works here for me.
