IE 8 crashes in XP but not on Windows 7 on a page in careerbuilder...why?
Our company site links to our Careerbuilder job listing page. When an XP user tries to open the site, IE8 crashes (gives the "stopped working, do you want to send..." box and then closes). I can open the site in Chrome on the XP machines with no problem, and the Windows 7 users can open the site with no problem even in IE.

That's the link. Is there something on that page that's giving them the problem?

Did you try updating adobe flash or even Java to 6v30?
I call it being one of these because I can access it from an XP computer.
If not, then try reinstalling IE or make them use Google Chrome since it works.

balther, we have a couple of vendors that require us to use IE (chrome would be my choice, but it's not). tgtran, it does the same thing even in safe mode.
I'll check on the java and flash.

no go on the java and flash update...running latest version, same issue.
Have you tried launching IE without Add Ons? Perhaps an active x object is corrupt.
