Remove an old WSUS Group Policy
Quick question. Our previous Network Admin had a Group Policy set for workstations to look up Windows Updates from an internal server. This server is no longer available. I need to change the policy on all workstations to point to the default Microsoft Update Servers externally again.
How can I do this?
Id like to keep the "Applied Group Policy Object" setting we have, as it's separate to the Default Domain Policy, because one day Ill implement WSUS hopefully and can just edit the one Group Policy again.
Once the change is made on the Group Policy, I assume the workstations will just get the new policy after a reboot if not via gpupdate /force?
Thanks in advance.
Thank in advance.
PS. AD Server is Server 2008 and workstations are WinXP and Win7.

If you really want to enable users to update themselves just change the existing GPO. Then use gpupdate.

I believe I already stated this
"In any case you would modify the GPO that is "Specify Intranet Microsoft Update Service Location" to null <<Delete both entries that point to a server"
