I am using SharePoint Server 2007(MOS1) to deploy SSRS reports. I have a SQL Server (let's say SQL1) which is datasource of my SSRS report, as well as Back-end of SharePoint Server. Reporting Services also resides on SQL1.

From what I know, when I deploy a report to SharePoint site, it actually gets stored on the ReportServer Database on SQL1. Sharepoint just act as a medium to view report and manipulate some settings.

My question is - what happens when I create a subscription to the report which exports the report in Excel format and puts it in a document library ? Does the report gets rendered on SQL1, and then somehow copied to sharepoint document library ? Or the report data (datasets, datasource) is pulled to MOS1 and then rendered to excel ?
