Hey everyone,

I have a website that I am trying to write a nagios check for.  Basically what I am trying to do is pull the html down into a file and then I plan on running a check on that file for a string.

The website is in Irish and I want to write a check that will alert me if for some reason the character encoding that displays the Irish characters quits working.  I have pulled down the HTML into an HTML file using w3m however the encoding is not right when I look at the file.  Everything I have read said that linux is set by default to UTF-8 and that is what the site should be served so I don't quite understand why the Irish characters aren't showing up properly when I view the html output file.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
