My pc is a dell vostro 220 and my OS was windows 7 professional 32 bit.  I wanted to upgrade to 64 bit, and this forum suggested pcmover by laplink software.  I think I have read the manuals wrongly, and I backed up to an ext drive, called a moving van, and then did a clean install of the 64 bit.  Then I copied and installed the pcmover program into this new 64 bit and tried to restore, but it did not work.  Tech support says that they missed out in the manual that I would have to make an image of the hard drive before upgrading.
Now the question is : is there any way I can recover to the original state of 32 bit with all the programs.  I was thinking aloud of even installing another HD with windows 7 32 bit and then restoring it, but Tech support says that this would not work.
I am sure there are lots of super gurus in this Forum who could perhaps suggest a way of this dilemna.  Thank u.
