I have a SQL Server 2008 Database that is used to dricve an online application.

Recently I have had to do some work to the database and it was required to alter some of the table and column names and to generally 'shift things about a bit'.

As part of this I recieved the error

Either the parameter @objname is ambiguous or the claimed @objtype (COLUMN) is wrong.

I have found references to Statisctics being the cause of this.

Should I be worried about statistics and Indexes after renaming tables and columns and if so what should I do to clear down Indexes and Statistics and produce new ones which reflect the current state of the database?

Or should I just rein in my OCD and go get a coffee and stop worrying about it?
