DNS Settings - no www.

Hi,

I have a domain name from 123reg (for the purposes of this post lets assume its domainname.com) and its pointing to some Rackspace hosting. The http://www.domainname.com works, points to the site and is ping-able etc. However nothing works on http://domainname.com

I don't know if I'm supposed to be looking at the DNS or something server-side, but we'd like http://domainname.com to go to http://www.domainname.com

Out current DNSsettings are:
* A 1.1.1.1
@ MX 10 mail.domainname.com
mail A 2.2.2.2
www A 1.1.1.1
* CNAME www.domainname.com

Please can someone tell me where I'm going wrong or what I need to look at?

Thanks,
Phil
