Blackberry changes default send mail account from BES to Gmail
I have a blackberry 9700, I have it activated with a BESx server and everything was working fine, this phone also has a Gmail account activated, so the user has a folder to open his work email and another icon for his gmail account. I have set the default accounts to "Desktop" on the three options on "Default Services".
The problem is that when he wants to send a new email, you can see "Default" on the SEND from, if he chooses to send an email to a contact that his primary email is a @Gmail mail, it automatically changes from "default" to Gmail Send from....
I made a test, I changed a contact that has three emails, the email1 was a @gmail.com and I changed that to email3, then when sending mail to this contact the blackberry will select "Desktop" as default email.
What can I do so the blackberry wont choose Gmail (only when I manually select it) and always chooses DESKTOP when sending an email.

I am using the Desktop mail, not the messages icon, when I click to send a new email, at the top you can see Account: Deault, then after you select a contact it will change between Desktop or Gmail, even though I have Desktop as Default...... as the blackberry thinks it´s better so send using the gmail account because my contact has an gmail address.... totally WRONG!!!

Sorry for the late reply, I forgot about this subject....
Indeed, the blackberry remembered the last account used for every contact, what I did was to delete the gmail account, and then I added again the account, so this time the primary account was the default (BES).

You should have three icons available: Messages, Desktop and Gmail. If you Compose Message from inside Desktop or Gmail, it will use those accounts as the defaults regardless. Are you, by any chance, using the Messages icon instead?
