Cant send e-mail from a distribution list on Outlook 2010
I have created a new distribution list in both Active Directory and also in Exchange Server 2010. The list works correctly and when i send mails to it it gets distributed as it should to the people in the group.
Problem is i can not send e-mails from the group name, I am getting the following bounced back to me every time i try
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
Stephen
You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so. Please make sure you're sending on behalf of the correct sender, or request the necessary permission. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.
Now i have gone in to AD and set the security to allow send to for Authenticated Users, As a member of the group i assume i am authenticated??
I have tried to send from one or two other lists after changing the setting above an no problem,
Cant work out where i am going wrong,
Anyone any ideas??
Thanks

Still the same error,
Try deleting the address book also.
Have you tried using a blank user profile (not email profile) to test this as well?

just tried it on one of the other guys laptops who is on the list and same error, As mentioned i can send mails fine from some other lists that we have,
Just for background on creating the list,
I first went into AD and created a distribution group, added the e-mail address to this, then went to Exchange and created a distribution list from existing account and selected the AD distribution list i created
Just in case i did anything stupid,
I will try deleting the address book now also,

Sorted Now,
Thanks for all your help
Thanks for all your help
1) Logon to your Exchange 2007/2010 server
2) Open the 'Exchange Management Shell'
3) Type the below in, but change 'GroupName' to the name of the group and 'UserName' to the name of the user you wish to grant these permissions to:
Set-DistributionGroup GroupName -GrantSendOnBehalfTo UserName
4) Press 'Enter'
That's it, that user can now select that group in the 'From' field in Outlook and send emails as if they were from the email address attached to that group.
