We are using the 90-day trial version of GP at this time to evaluate it.

I have been trying to set myself up within it with the same privileges as the 'sa' user since I am one of the Domain Administrators and one of the SW Developers

Each time I attempt to log in as 'sa' add my own username and then attempt to Copy the Access Rights, I get the error message:
"The user could not be added to one or more databases"

What is going wrong?

And how can I resolve this?

Thanks,

Thank you.

Your advice has gotten me very close.

It did allow me to create my own user login credentials.
And it allowed me to authorize myself to access the newly created OurCompany

BUT it did not allow me access to the GP-installed Test company (Fabrikam, Inc) which I would also like to use for learning/testing so as to not corrupt the 'real' company.

When attempting to add access to that Test company, I again got the same error message:
"The user could not be added to one or more databases"

Any suggestions?

Thanks
How did you create the Test company?

The Test/Sample company was created by the GP Client itself during the initial launch when it asked about setting up a Sample company.

That was done under a 'sa' login.
I think you have added the user to the company in SQL (out of Dynamics GP). Anyway, can you open SQL Management Studio and navigate to the Test Company, and delete the user ID in question from the Test DB logins, then trying to give that user the access to Test Company in Dynamics GP again.

Thank you.

Once again your information was right 'on the mark'.

By eliminating my user credentials within the SQL Server and then adding the User Access to the Sample/Test company within the GP Client, resolved the issue.

Thanks
