Citrix remote access issue

I have a user that cannot connect to a server using a published icon in his citrix env. However if he goes to another PC he can connect fine. He get the standard...To log on to the remote computer, you must have terminal services user access permissions on this computer.... The fact he is able to log onto the server via Citrix from another PC eliminates the Citrix server or the remote server as the issue. What should I check on the local PC that is giving him the issues?

1. What is the version of the Citrix you're using?
2. Both the Client PCs are in the same subnet and close to each other?
3. Are you using same username to login to the both the Client machines, same Citrix clients (online/web plugins)?
4. Are you getting that messages randomnly? Sometime you're able to login but sometimes not?

If above are true, then I may suspect that one of the Citrix server in the load-balancer might have this issue. May be you have an existing session on the server and different session on the other server.

Search the user in the Citrix console, close all the existing session. Create a test application, publish it on the first servers (if you have 4 servers in the load balacing), if connection fine, remove that server and readd the next and so on.

Also check Remote desktop users group on all the servers to see if user groups are missed on any one of the server.

Check this too:

There are many reasons for such an error. But first, can I infer from your question that both the PCs the user try to access Citrix applications from are on the LAN?

Moreover, can you please provide the version of Citrix and Windows being used? And we need to know how is the user accessing the apps - from a browser or from his desktop (PNAgent)?

Lastly, which version of the Citrix ICA Client is on both of the PCs and whether it is the PNAgent like or just the web client?

Just to give it a head start for troubleshooting:

Can you check on the server event viewer whether you received the error event 1010.

Moreover kindly post any event ID errors on the PC that failed the user from connecting.

Hope all the information will be provided to help troubleshoot your issue better.
Hi , As Mutawadi and Basaraj already has pointed out , The are many reasons for this kind of issues:

Most of the cases it helps by doing the below :

1. Compare the version of ICA client in both the PC's
2. Tools can be helpfull - Ping , Telnet   to verify connectivity of the particular PC to the network as well as to the server you are trying to connect

Just to give you a little background, because I know I hate it if someone didn't give me a little more info....

Versions are the same.
User has same connectivity (Subnet, Ping, Telnet)
Connecting to the same citrix server in the farm.
Nothing in the event log that gives me any clues
No clear solution.
