I have 2 separate servers-a report server running SSRS, and a SharePoint 2010 server (coming soon-not ready yet).  Currently I'm trying to setup the SSRS server and start getting some test resports developed.

I want to install SSRS in integrated SharePoint mode because in the near future we will have a SEPARATE SharePoint server that I want to connect up nicely to my new SSRS instance.  I was hoping to get SSRS up and running and throw some reports in it to show to management, but I get the error spelled out in the link below:

http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/564558/error-after-set-sql-2008-r2-to-sharepoint-integrated-mode

From what I gather, I need to install the WFE portion of SharePoint on my SSRS server before I can make it work.

Do I have to wait till I have the install media for SharePoint 2010 and install that before I proceed with SSRS server or is there some workaround?  I'd like to start developing.  Thanks.
