Excel formula help needed

Please see the attached word document and excel spreadsheet for details of what I'm looking for.  Right now I'd be happy if someone could just help me with items A and G.  Summary of A and G below:
A = Need a multi option dropdown that puts the selections in the row seperated by commas I cannot figure out how to do this for the life of me.  Here's a weblink that shows how w/VBA but I don't know VBA....http://www.contextures.com/excelvbalistboxcreate.html
I'd be ok with just a way to have a way to select from more than one of the items in an excel dropdown.
G = Calculated formula, this one is hard, I can't figure it out, based on work needed vs done.  I included details on the calculation in item G on the attached word document
Please help!  Thank you in advance, Chris

I don't understand in E:

Task #3: Row 7: (Number of owners = 4) (ETN = 2) = X3 = 4

Why 4? What is the logic? Shouldn't it be 8? Or is it a typo and should be

Task #3: Row 7: (Number of owners = 2) (ETN = 2) = X3 = 4

You are right, it is a typo, it should be as you correctly indicate below:
Task #3: Row 7: (Number of owners = 2) (ETN = 2) = X3 = 4 (2 people, 2 hours each)

Chris55489,

which of the many questions in this thread is still unanswered? You have posted the same workbook with the questions a few times.

I've answered a few of your questions in this thread. My suggestion would be to close this question and then post whatever is not resolved in a new one and make it clear what exactly you are after.

And remember: One question per thread, please.

Can you please help clear up the mess?

cheers, teylyn

For G you can have

=SUM((LEN(R5:R7)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(R5:R7,",",""))+1)*(U5:U7))

I forgot to mention that these are array formulas and have to be entered by pressing shift-ctrl-enter.

If you get a value error then
select the cell
press F2
press shift-ctrl-enter

Now, this is exactly what I thought would happen.

You posted half a dozen questions in this one. I have answered several of them, but all the points go to another expert who answered only one question.

not happy!

That was not intentional, I appologize for the way I entered my question and for not assigning points correctly.  Sincerely, Chris

As this question is under observation, maybe one of the mods can reopen this question for reassigning points as this appears to be the intention of the asker.

BTW teylyn this is probably one of the features which has gone in the negative direction in that one cannot request attention if there is already a request in process.

I second teylyn.

BTW this is an interesting development....not seen before for reopened questions

If no feedback is received we will implement option #2; delete with no refund.

ssaqibh, it's a boiler plate text template that the moderator use to call on participating experts. It helps the mods to get through a lot of "requests for attention" in a short time, but sometimes not all items apply.  I imagine that the mods have a boatload of requests to handle each day, so I don't expect them to write out the parameters for each case individually. And sometimes they may just be too busy to edit the template text for each case, which I can understand.

Since you and I have been asked for feedback, the ball was played into our court. Now that we've both answered, it's back in theirs and in a few days we'll all be happy.

Thanks moderators! I really appreciate your work.

cheers, teylyn

There can not be two opinions about the quality and quantity of work being done by the mods.

What I was amused by was that they have opted to "delete" the question....which almost forces the participants to respond ;-)

Yes, that's the intention. Deletion would be the logical next step, typically used in a cleanup situation, if neither the asker nor the experts respond and the cleanup volunteer cannot figure out if a valid answer has been given.

The "refund" part is a bit out of date, though, since EE dropped points refunds for askers a looong time ago.
