SCMM 2012 client installl fails
I have setup a lab System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 RC install and now trying to install the client on a windows 7 test using push install but it fails (log attached).
the server and client firewall is off.
the 'client install' account used by SCMM is a local admin on the client
the ccmsetup.exe service starts on the client during the install.
I think I have setup site, boundaries ete etc OK...
I suppose from the log the failures are:
- GetDPLocations failed with error 0x87d00215
- Failed to get DP locations as the expected version from MP 'KK14SERVER.test.local'. Error 0x87d00215
ccmsetup.log

Double check your site boundary settings and make sure you can ping the DP server name from the computer that you are pushing the client install to. Also check the client as a test is on the same network subnet

I have checked boundary settings. hope ok.
it won't even install to the scmm server itself. it is also a DC but I'm ticking the install to Dc box too.

I have the same issue here... still no solutions ?

SCCM is the most (unnecessarily) complicated thing ever...
Solved my issue. :-)
I have used the "same" virtual session source to create my ad and sccm server which turn out they had the same ssid. when the PC tried to connect to any shares on the sccm server, I had error message (user unknown... kind of). I also had a warning in the event viewer on the sccm server at the startup that put me on the trace of the ssid error stating that ssid was the same as the AD, that might create some errors, bla bla bla...
Of course sysprep did a great job, but not for SQL so I had to redo the complete installation and worked.
If you tried to access an admin share from the PC to the sccm server and getting an error, that might be your issue as well.
the funny thing is that we (you and me) had both exactly the same error message in the world ! hard to find solutions :-)
