Windows 2008 Standard Server R2 folder redirection thru group policy.  OU contains 3 users and 3 xp pc's.

User can not save documents in desktop, my documents.  When saving in MS Excell gets message box - "Access is Denied.  Contact your administrator".  Parent Folder of redirected user folders works from folder redirection from another OU on Windows 7 platforms.  Same access rights are applied to Parent Folder, Share of Parent Folder and user folder under parent.

No affected user has ntfs permissions that deny anything.

User can create folders on desktop and they are saved and appear in redirected folder on the sever .

Followed all MS recommended share and ntfs permissions recommendations.  User is Owner on his folder and of course all subfolders under him.  Also on the GP, the grant exclusive permissions option is not set on all redirected folders.

I added a test user to OU and it created a whole new profile on one of the pc's and gets same errors.

GP was working but since then I have added file quota's on the parent share for the users as well as quota filters.  Since then I have removed it No affect.

Further, before error occured, it was noticed that the parent OU Group Policy had by mistake folder redirection of app data with settings of keep data in current location when folder redirection is disabled.  I removed the configuration and thats when I heard of issues with the OU Group Policy Folder Direction.

I since reconfigured the OU GP to enabled folder redirection on app data and selected move data back to users folder when folder redirection is not configured,  i then did gpupdate /force on the 3 users pc's restarted the pcs.  I than changed the Group Policy to move data back to users local folder option.  I then did the force group policy and restarted the pc's again.  Finally, i changed the group policy to not configured, forced the gp again and restarted the pc.  No change, user can't save data that is already on the desktop or my documents.

I am stumped.  Any help
