Excel 2003 - Autorecover Questions
I just restarted EXCEL after losing power and although I had the autorecover feature set for 10 minutes, when I went into EXCEL I lost over an hour's work.
I then went into the AUTORECOVER location and saw that there were no files there?
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Applicat ion Data\Microsoft\Excel\Where else could the files be located.
I lost a lot of work.
How do I use autorecover?

In the Tools, Options... window locate the recover folder.
Use Details to see the date/time stamps and try to open the appropriate file.
If autosave is on (recommended) you should have a file available.

In the it's too late category, a good habit is to save a workbook as soon as you have data worth saving. This makes the AutoRecover easier by having a named file.

I had the autorecover set for 10 minutes and there was NO file there. Furthermore, the data that was recovered when I opened EXCEL was one hour old.
Question: WHY did I lose an hour's worth of work when I had autorecover set for ten minutes.
