Problem:  Java applets not being displayed.  What I have tried:  Java: Uninstall Java from computer, and rebooted.  Went to Java website, downloaded and installed latest version.  Internet Explorer: Tools, Internet Options, [Security Tab], Custom Level, Scripting of Java applets IS ENABLED.   [Advanced tab], Reset Internet Explorer section, clicked the RESET button to reset Internet explorer’s setting to their default condition.   [General tab],  Browsing History section, Delete,  Deleted temporary Internet Files, closed and reopened browser.

Testing:  If I go to and test my Java, I do now get the message ” You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 30).”   However, when I go to the web page  I do not see me machine information  listed above.

Practical application:  I am not able to access the web page I need to.   In fact I get an error message “Internet Explorer  has stopped working”.    If I go to I do not see the pink rectangle with one line of text.  When I go to, I can see that java script is enabled, but I get “sorry you cannot see java applets”

System Configuration:  Windows Vista 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002, Windows Explorer Version: 9.0.8112.16421, Update Versions: 9.0.4 (KB2618444), Cipher Strength: 256-bit , Product ID: 03553-997-7332157-00204.

Other Info: Inside the Widows control panel, when I open the Java Control Panel, Advanced tab, Settings, Default Java for browsers, Microsoft Internet Explorer checkbox is selected, but grayed-out (disabled).   However, this may be because there are no other browsers checked and one has to be the default.  When I checked my laptop, it is also has this checkbox on, but grey-out and the java works fine on Internet Explorer on the laptop.
