Cannot send mail in Exchange 2010 - "A matching connector cannot be found to route the external recipient

I am trying to replace a Server 2003 SBS environment with Server 2008 R2 and Exchange 2010. I have migrated all of the mailboxes successfully to the new server and can receive email. But when I attempt to send, the email gets stuck in the "Unreachable Domain" queue with the error message "A matching connector cannot be found to route the external recipient".

I have a Send Connector configured with a * and a cost of 1.

Any ideas on what to look at?

Thanks

Is your Send Connector Enabled?

On the properties of your Send Connector have you checked that there is a Source Server?  This should be your Exchange 2010 Server.
