Ringtone option under view option in Itunes program

Dear experts,

Kindly could someone tell me how to get me the 'ringtone' options under the itunes program in the laptop.

Also, I need to understand the exact process of uploading music files (in non itune formats) in to  itune.

I have tried this and find that some of the songs do not copy into the itune.

Please assume i have no knowledge of itunes. Itunes are really very confusing.

Thank you,

Dear Kahan,

Thank you for the comment, I can now see the 'tone' under library after doing the exercise suggested by you.

Attached are the two file which i am unable to get into the library, no matter how many times i try. The format of the files are flv (5.41mb) and mp3 format sound (453 kb).
I am unable to upload the files, i have trying to upload flv file for 15 minutes.

But there is a third file (not selected) which is getting uploaded into itunes.

Kindly help.
No files were attached.

453kb is awfully small for an mp3.  If it is supposed to be a 3 minute song, it's way too small, and perhaps the problem is that it is incomplete or corrupted.  Are you able to play the file outside of iTunes, with any other player?

You do not mention whether you are using a Mac or a Windows PC.  Either way, you will need to convert the FLV to a format that iTunes can understand, like mp3.  Instructions for doing so (for both Mac and PC ) are here:  http://www.daniusoft.com/convert-flv/flv-to-itunes.html

Those instructions will refer you to a particular flv to mp3 converter, but you're not confined to the one they point to; any flv to mp3 converter will do.
Hi akahan,

Thank you for the comment.

The expert exchange portal would not upload the files. I think flv was a recognized format but i waited for 15 minutes for upload but could not see any progress on the upload.

Yes i am able to play the audio in their original formats using my windows 2007 platform.

I will try the converter as suggested by you and will come back with my results soon.

Thank you
What do you mean "upload"?  Where are the files that you're trying to add to your iTunes library?  Are they on your hard drive, or somewhere else?
Akahan,

What i mean by upload was to mean, I wanted to attach those files to my comment, so that the experts could download the file and see if there was any issue with the file.

I could not add these files to the library in Itunes. These files are on my hard pc (windows 2007).

Thank you
Music files are not permitted attachments on Experts Exchange, so you won't be able to upload them here.

There is no such thing as "Windows 2007," so I'm not sure what you are referring to there.

How EXACTLY do you know that the mp3 file is not being added to the library in iTunes?

What EXACTLY are you doing to add it?

What happens when you try to add it?
1. Get an application that will convert your file to AAC format (m4a extension). On the mac, one such application is "max". If you need an application for the PC, search "convert flv" on cnet.
2. After the file is converted, change the extension to m4r
3. drop your m4r file onto itunes.
