Press "shift+ctrl+F" or "ctrl+F" to find the word. If your file is corrupted the use the following link

I might be it is not searchable because it is an image or so on, in that case you have to use some OCR software, e.g. Adobe Professional, ABBY FineReader

Your PDF file must be searchable.
If you only use Adobe Reader, most of your files are not searchable.
IMHO, invest in a program like Nuance PDF Converter Professional.  This will let you convert PDF to searchable PDF, but also let you convert PDF's to editable Word, Excel, etc. files.
BTW, Nuance also offers a scanning program to create searchable PDF's with many other interesting options for an inexpensive Document Management System.

I have no problem at all searching within Adobe itself. If there is a picture in Adobe with text that is a picture, that, of course, will not be found. But everything else is.

I can also search from the Windows 7 start button and, so long as my index is up to date, text within Adobe PDF's will also be found from the Windows 7 search. This is very handy.

LeeTutor--

It is true besmile4ever never responded to any of the suggestions made, so there was no information from the OP.  But at least five ways to search a .pdf file were offered.  I would think at least one would work.
In any event, this thread should be archived, not deleted, because of the information offered, which would be useful to others.
I agree, and offered good information along with jcimmaron.  ... Thinkpads_User
My post (ID: 37584252) works with Windows 7 and Adobe Reader as well as Adobe Standard. I use the feature daily and search within PDF files. As noted, in any case, a PDF must be searchable and not a pure graphic.

I also agree with post ID: 37585146. I use the Find function directly within Adobe Reader and Standard frequently, and it finds content. Always, the PDF must be searchable.

Lee Tutor--I have tried each of the solutions offered in http:#a37585146 and http:#a37584077  They all work for me on Win 7 SP1 .
This thread should at least be archived for future viewers, if points are not awarded.

thinkpads_user--Forgive me.  I did not try your suggestion http:#a37584252  :)
