I have a HP proliant DL380 G6 server currently configured as follows:

Array A = 2 x 76Gb HDDs (Raid 1)
Array B = 4 x 300Gb HDDs (Raid 5)

The Array Controller is an embedded HP Smart Array P410i, and there are 2 spare HDD slots available on the server.

We are running out of Disk space on Array B, and I have 2 new 600Gb SAS drives which I would like to use to extend Array B. Am I able to mix the 300 Gb and 600 Gb drives on Array B, and if so what is the process? Is it as simple as adding the new 600 Gb Drives, and then expanding and extending the array using the ACU?

any advice would be welcome.
