Unable to access Sharepoint Site + 3 times authentication prompt resulting in White Screen

Hi,
I have an issue whereby Im unable to access my sharepoint site from my workstation. Keeps prompting for my username and password and despite keying the credentials 3 times, it simply goes to a white screen. This is the same for IE 6 and 7 as well as for Firefox.

Background ::---
I had created a new Web and Site Collection accordingly and configured for port 80 accordingly. Authentication type is Windows using Integated Windows Authentication (NTLM).

However, whats weird is if i add any user to the Central Admin-->Site Actions-->Site Permissions--> (Ex. ABC) and grant read access and thereafter grant access to the Site Collection accordingly, the user is able to access from his workstation.

Though im new to Sharepoint, dont think its necessary to grant any access to the users at Central Admin.

On the WFEs, had attempted to disableloopbackcheck or Add BackConnectionHostNames but issue does not seem to be resolved.

Had added the site as trusted site in the user's workstation IE Setting as well but issue persists.

Currently only Sharepoint Timer, User Code host and Server search 14 are running using Domain accounts on the WFEs.

Not too sure if its a Sharepoint Settings Issue, IIS or if there are any security settings that need to be changed on the WFEs.

----------------
- WFEs are running on Windows server 2008 R2
- SQL running on SQL 2008

Would appreciate some help ! Thanks

You get a white screen because after 3 trys it will lock out. Try this go to internet options go to the security tab, click on internet, scroll to the bottom and select auto log on with current username and password. See if that fixes it for you

Hi,
Tried the IE setting on a client workstation but problem persists. Keeps prompting to key in credentials and after 3 attempts, displays a white screen ! Any settings at Sharepoint level that need to be configured ? Thks
Make sure that the the AD user account does not prompt for User must change password on logon or if the account is disabled, locked out or even expired.

If AD account looks alright to you, then check if IIS is showing the site.

If it is, can you please make sure you disabled the loopbackcheck correctly?  I believe it might also be case sensitive.
