Network card Not detected on RHEL 5.7
Hello,
I have installed RHEL 5.7 on desktop, I am not able to find ifcfg-eth0 in /etc/sysconfig/network-scr ipts/ directory . i can see only ifcfg-lo file in that directory. how do i make Ethernet card working ??
I have checked mother board bios, Integrated NIC card is set to enabled and NIC Boot ROM also enabled.

From a command prompt, if you type ifconfig -a, what is the output?
Sounds like your using text mode and not GUI, if you are type "setup" you can navigate to the network configuration there. The link above references centos style configurations and you need the command redhat-config-network-tui. If your confused just type redhat-config and tab a few times, it will print out a list.
f you don't have a network card listed in network configuration then give us the output of "lspci".

ifconfig -a output lists only loopback adapter
system-config-network and system-config-network-tui both not listing the device, just blank under devices.
