Experts,

I am doing a select against a small crossreference table.

SELECT COALESCE(FieldB, 'DEF') FROM MyTable WHERE FieldA = vInput

What I am atempting to do:
If the corresponding FieldB record is null, I want to refurn a default of 'DEF'
If there is no match on FieldA I wnt to return the same default of 'DEF'

I am continually getting null instead of my default 'DEF'
How do I correct this?
Thanks
