Re-Evaluating my Job Title
Hello, this may be an off the wall topic but I am trying to figure out what my actual job title should be. For the past 4 years, my title has been Technical Team Lead. However, my job has evolved from just updating excel spreadsheets. I first taught myself how to use sql, use Business Intelligence Development Studio to create automated reports that are available to every associate so they can track their performance. I create databases\tables\stored procedures etc in sql server, manage user permissions on the reporting server , provide period overview sfor executive meetings, generate monthly accruals, generate monthly transaction and revenue forecasts. My annual review is this week and need to come up with a proposal to have my job title updated and have a market value to show how much I should actually be making.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Since I am not responsible for the security of the database, is it conceivable that I could be labeled as a Database Analyst or Business Intelligence Developer?

Thanks everyone. I am not seeing any salaries for reporting analyst. For Database analyst the salaries appear to range from $65K to $100K based on years of experience. A Business Intelligence Developer's average appears to be around $100K. I am just having trouble combining the two into one role. I can see myself as a data analyst, reporting analyst, and BI Developer!

Would be cool if you'd let us know what title you've obtained after you had your talk, or actually which one you proposed to your manager and the final decision on what it will become :)

I had my annual review yesterday and suggested that my title be updated to my current position. After the discussion, it was determined that I create my own job title and description and submit it for review. I have attached the document to see if you guys have any feedback and if the title matches the description. Also (for the fun of it and how insulted I am at my current position) I have attached the current job title and description I am working under (Technical Team Lead). Keep in mind I do not perform any of these duties.
Also, if any of you would like to give advice on the competitive wages currently being offered for my updated job description. I am currently receiving $46K a year.
Thanks!
