Shadow copies disappears
Hi All,
I have shadow copies configured on my file server but lately my copies have been disappearing after 2 copies or late in the afternoon.
I run two copies daily one at 7 am and other one at 12pm. I always used to have 4-5 days worth of copies to go to.
I dont understand where to start looking for?
Thanks in advance

HI Mate,
SOrry for late reply, we are not running defrag and server is patched as well.
though we are using dfs if that could be any problem I am not sure.
I have tried to increase the size by very little for now see if that makes any difference. I also created a new copy by clicking create now. I will see if it still stays there.

Thanks guys,
Right now I am running a shaddow copy of D drive on drive it self and as per the links thats not advisable; does that mean I can I change the storage are to C drive?
Issue is shoddow copies are deleting with event id: 25 source volsnap,
"The shadow copies of volume D: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time. Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied."
This could be happening due to dfs replication with other server that was setup only some time back and vss has been causing issues ever since.
I might not be able to change anything on dfs replication but maybe change vss to make sure they both run as needed.
One more question can I add another usb hdd and change storage area to that hdd?
If I do change storage area do I need to configure client again as well?

Is the server full patched?
Are you using diskeeper or any defrag tools?
